Sheri A. Watson, 22, of Sanford, died from injuries she sustained in a car accident in Lyman, June 1, 2011.
She was the beloved daughter born to Francis C. and Delia A. (Hathaway) Watson as an early Christmas present on December 1, 1988.
Sheri was a precocious child, very independent and a very protective big sister to her brother, Francis II and sister Julianna. She attended St. Thomas School during her elementary years and graduated from Kearsage High School in Sutton, NH with the Class of 2007. She obtained her licensed nurses assistant (LNA) after graduating from high school.
Sheri was a talented athlete who participated in dance, basketball and with her leadership skills was Captain of the field hockey team. She was also a good student who had planned on going into nursing or becoming a respiratory therapist. With her self confidence and sense of doing the “right thing” – she was on the debate team at school and was one of the students who took part in going to court, meeting Judge Nadeau and learned how the judicial system worked. Sheri had aspirations of some day becoming a lawyer or judge.
Sheri had a sense of style when it came to clothing, accessories and music. She loved Rhythm and Blues, Soul music and Rap music and followed the career of Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. Her two favorite actresses were Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. She had many friends and had her own spiritual beliefs.
Sheri worked as a Certified Nurses Aide and with her kind heart and care giving nature, was a natural fit for her. She was employed in So. Portland, the Kennebunk Nursing Home and was a valued employee of the Newton Center in Sanford.
Sheri will never be forgotten by her family and friends. Though young in years, she knew the value of family, obtaining a good education and setting goals for the future.
She is survived by her father, Francis Watson of Sanford; her mother, Delia Watson of New London, NH; her brother and sister, Francis II and Julianna both of New London, NH; her maternal grandparents, Romaine and Edith Andress of Plainfield, VT; her uncle, Steven Andress of Plainfield, VT; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from Nigeria and the U.S.A.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Gregory and Eunice Watson.
A Celebration of Sheri’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Curtis Lake Christian Church, 38 Westview Drive, in Sanford.

The Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street in Alfred is respectfully handling arrangements.
