Ruth E. (Ruthie) Molleur, 86, of Lyman, Maine, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Ruth was born on September 20, 1931 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia the daughter of Ernest E. and M. Dorothy (Ellis) Hurlbert.
Ruthie and her late husband Bruce enjoyed 64 years of marriage and nurtured and raised two children together in Greenland, NH. Ruthie was a talented seamstress who made her children clothes as well as beautiful quilts and afghans. Ruthie was a crafter in many mediums, fine needle point, reupholstering furniture and making Barbie doll clothes. She was an artist in her own right; firing the kiln and sculpturing her one of a kind porcelain dolls. The very fine details and animation made each doll unique and treasured gifts given to her family and friends. Ruth was a talented cook and loved to entertain and have her family home for the holidays. She loved strawberry short cake and would never say no to anything chocolate!
Ruth worked at a fabric store for many years and also worked in a local woodworking business in Sanford as a bookkeeper. She and Bruce retired to Keywood Manor in Lyman where they made new friends and enjoyed the many dinners and activities. Ruth was also an avid reader, especially enjoying the books by Norah Roberts. In the past few years, she enjoyed adult coloring books.
Ruth is now once again reunited with the “love of her life” Bruce and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Ruth is lovingly survived by her children, Cynthia A. Molleur of Gray and Steven A. Molleur and wife Elaine of Greenland, NH; her favorite grandchildren, Rebecca A. Huckins of Gray; Benjamin A. Huckins of Kittery; Sarah A. Molleur and Elizabeth Y. Molleur, both of Greenland, NH; her great-grandson, Aiden E. Arciga of Gray; and her sister-in-law, June Hurlbert; her nieces, Joyce and Barbara Hurlbert; and her nephews, Rob, Jeff, and Roy Hurlbert.
