Shirley (Boyle-March) Binette

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave., in Sanford. Committal Prayers and burial will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale.

On Wednesday October 24, 2018 Shirley (Boyle-March) Binette, loving wife and mother of four children passed away at the age of 88 at River Ridge Center in Kennebunk, where she had been a resident prior to her passing.

Shirley was born on March 21, 1930 in Syracuse, New York to John and Ethel Boyle. In June of 1951, she married Delbert March.  They had two sons, Richard (“Dick”) and John, and two daughters, Sharon and Adel.  On December 10, 1960 she married Richard Binette.

Shirley had a passion for crafting and crocheting. She enjoyed Christmas time because she was able to employ her skills to make decorations and festive items.  She especially loved spending time with her kids and grandkids at the holidays and always centered the holiday festivities around them.  Shirley also enjoyed having breakfast at the Sanford Airport and Saturday night bean suppers at Notre Dame Institute in Alfred.  She was also an active volunteer at St. Ignatius Parish and had many valuable skills to offer her church community.

Shirley was preceded in death by two husbands, Delbert and Richard; two brothers, Donald and Jerry; and two children, Richard (“Dick”) and Adel.

She is survived by two children, Sharon and John; six grandchildren, Lisa, Sandra, Jessica, Brian, Jeffrey, and Rebecca; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.
