David R. Guimond, 68, of Alfred Road in Lyman, passed peacefully in the comfort of his home, on December 11, 2018.
David was born on December 16, 1949 in Gorham, the son of Joseph R. and Theresa (Morin) Guimond.
David was a 1968 graduate of Kennebunk High School and was employed at Morning Star in Kennebunk, at Vishay in Sanford. He was a lab technician for many years at Sprague Electric and loved the comradery with his co-workers there. Though David faced many health challenges, he maintained a positive outlook and kept smiling.
David was a devoted father to his two daughters, Jodi and Shannon. He did not hesitate to help them do their hair and make-up or be the supportive partner during Lamaze classes. David enjoyed spending time with his children and delighted in being Pepere to his grandchildren.
David always enjoyed going on road trips with his lifelong partner, David A. McMullen. They explored the local beaches and traveled to the mountains during ‘leaf peeping’ seasons. At home, David had an open door policy, whether you needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to celebrate with. He loved working in his patio gardens, the raised beds of vegetables and his infamous Poinsettia plants!
David’s home was filled with the sounds of his “babies” his three Chihuahua’s dogs, Pwitty Girl, Moxie and Miss Irene. David was well known for his daily blog on his Facebook page. Most days you could find words of encouragement, a good story, and photos of nature scenes. David was raised in the Catholic faith that would guide him through-out his life and during his many health issues. He has now entered into eternal peace and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
David is lovingly survived by his two daughters, Shannon M. L. Lowery of Berwick; and Jodi L. M. Hussey of Sanford; his lifelong partner of 40 years, David A. McMullen of Lyman; his three grandsons, “CJ” Christopher Lowery, Ayden Lowery, Dylan Guimond, and one granddaughter, Sierra Hussey; his sons-in-law, Christopher Lowery and Michael Hussey; his siblings, Ann-Marie Carroll of Limerick; Paulette Howard of Lyman; Richard Guimond of Lyman and his step-brother, Mark Guimond of Alfred.
David was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Theresa and sister, Irene Guillemette.
