Warren (Red) Andrews, 94, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, surrounded by his loving family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Warren was born on June 9, 1924 in Rochester, New Hampshire the son of Raymond and Hazel (Gault) Andrews. He moved to Kennebunkport while still a young child and attended Kennebunkport High School before his joined the U.S. Army in 1943. He would eventually tell his children stories of how he spent his 20th birthday crouched in a foxhole on Omaha Beach after landing in Normandy on D-Day.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Warren returned to Kennebunkport where he married his first wife Elizabeth and raised their five children. He continued to serve his community for many years as a part-time police officer, an active member of the First Congregational Church on North Street and volunteer fireman; helping to fight the ’47 Fire. After a long career working for General Electric in Portland, Warren eventually retired and moved to Waterboro with his second wife Joyce.

Warren enjoyed the remaining years of his life puttering around in his wood-working shop, gardening, and mowing his beloved lawn, every other day and always in a different direction! However, his greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, whether it was at the family camp in Brownfield, at backyard gatherings, or just lending a helping hand.

Warren was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth and his second wife Joyce.

He is survived by his five children, David Andrews and wife Betsy of South Bristol; Stephen Andrews and wife Carol of Arundel; Lorri Gould and husband Rick of Waterboro; Lisa Thompson and husband Mark of Kennebunkport; Mark (Chip) Andrews and wife Jennifer of Mechanicsville, VA; 14 grandchildren; Brookie and wife Kin, Donna, Melissa, June and husband Michael, Matthew and wife Krystal, Melanie, Alyssa and husband Mark, Justin and wife Erin, Jacob and fiancée Traci, Chelsea and fiancé Michael, Eliza, Kendall, Brooke, Logan; 17 great grandchildren; Travis and wife Nikki, Elizabeth, Abigail, Micah, Glen, Jillian, Jordan, Danika, Izabel, Garrett, Grace, Kialeigh, Cameron, Tyler, Addison, Ruby, Seamus; and 9 great-great grandchildren; Madison, Jaxon, Warren, Savannah, Maverick, Hunter, Bentley, Aurora, Mia and 10th great-great grandbaby due in January.
