Pamela Anne Worden, 60, of Sanford, passed in the comfort of her home, surrounded in love, on July 25, 2019. Pam was a courageous woman; who battled cancer and even her recent health challenges could not dampen her spirit for living. Her final wishes were to come home, to be cared and loved by her family. Pam passed peacefully in her home, with her beloved husband, boys, siblings and friends near her who came and reminisced about the “good ole days”. She has now entered into eternal rest and has been reunited with those who have gone on before.
Pam was born in Sanford on March 3, 1959, the daughter of George and Patricia (Mauzerolle) Stone and grew up in an active home with one brother and two sisters. When Pam was younger, she played on a softball team that was coached by her Dad, and all of her sisters joined her and traveled to Dallas, Texas to play in the “big leagues.” Pam was a graduate of Sanford High School and was educated to become a CNA and CRMA; dedicating herself to her patients in a number of local nursing homes.
Pam met her future husband, Kevin P. Worden, Sr. while out cruising and chit-chatting on the CB radio. They complimented each other and were married on March 3, 1979 at the Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Springvale. They were blessed with two sons, Kevin, Jr. and Jacob and as a family; they opened their hearts and home to numerous kids who called her “Mom” and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Her sense of humor and laughter brought people together and the families’ door was always open for family and those who needed a hot meal or “motherly advice.” Pam was a wonderful cook and her holiday gatherings are cherished memories. She was fun, vivacious and the disciplinarian in the family; there wasn’t much that got past her! Though the ‘kid’ inside Pam yearned to make many memories on cross country road trips, dancing, and vacations to Disney World on several occasions with her family and when the grandchildren came along, made her a loving and fun Mimi.
Pam is survived by her parents, George and Patricia Stone of Sanford, her husband of 40 years, Kevin Worden, Sr. of Sanford; her two sons, Kevin, Jr. of Orlando, Florida and Jacob Worden of Sanford; her two grandchildren, Cameron and Bently; one brother, Jeff Stone of Sanford; her two sisters, Roxanne Baker of Acton and Donna Edgerly of Sanford; her special kids, Daniel Adams, Peter O’Brien, Amanda Banks and Tabatha Goodale; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
