Keith was born at home in Brownfield on June 21, 1927 the son of Audley and Bernice (Woodard) Gerry.
Keith grew up in North Waterboro and attended local schools. He served with the United States Army and upon his return home; Keith worked in the woods and for Dwight Mills in Kezar Falls. He loved to be outdoors and worked hard as a woodman, cutting timber and firewood which he sold from his home.
Keith was the caretaker of Elder Grey Cemetery for a number of years, and he took great pride in keeping it the lawns mowed and the leaves raked in the fall. During the winter months, Keith was not one to sit idle, he plowed driveways and was ever cutting and splitting firewood to sell. He loved when families came by to pick out their perfect Christmas tree; watching the kids getting excited for their winter vacations from school. Keith was a member of the Waterboro Fire Department and worked many long hours helping to keep the streets plowed in town.
Keith and his son Tony were avid hunters. With Keith’s years of working in the woods, he knew all the good hiding places for both hunting and fishing.
