Laurette C. Boisvert, 88, a longtime resident of Sanford/Springvale, entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2017 while in the comforting care of family at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, in Scarborough.

Laurette was born in Sanford on July 5, 1929, the daughter of Henri and Anna (Cartier) Provencher.

Laurette went to grade school at Notre Dame in Springvale and was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School.

Laurette was a dedicated employee of Sprague Electric and for many years loved working with her friends packing apples at Romac Packing House in Acton by the fairgrounds. In the early sixties to the mid 70’s, the family made their home at Camp Nutter in Acton; where her husband Gerard, was the Scout Master. Though their marriage ended, their relationship was one of respect and she even cared for Gerard while he was sick and was by his side when he died. Her faith and attending Mass each week brought her great comfort and strength. She was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.

Laurette was a true matriarch of her family of five children. She was very protective of the children, though at times she could be firm with them; not wanting any help around her home or with her daily chores. During the last 15 years, Laurette was diagnosed as being legally blind; though her “can do attitude” never suggested her eyesight was diminished. She became quite the expert with her computer skills and never missed a birthday, anniversary or acknowledgement of her large and extended families special days! Her homemade cards are treasured keepsakes.

Each year she looked forward to family reunions with her siblings; gathered together, speaking French and English and sharing fried clams at Ted’s in Shapleigh. Her home was always open with love to those that needed respite. Laurette loved spending Saturdays’ with her sisters – a bond that time and distance has never altered. As her grandchildren joined the family; they became number one in her life!

With heavy hearts from those who have loved and known Laurette, she is once again in the presence of God and has been reunited with her siblings and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered and honored by her sons, Paul Boisvert, Donald Boisvert and Wilfred Bosivert, Jean Boisvert, and her daughter, Noelle Boisvert Roy; her six grandchildren who lovingly named her Memere, Cheri, Renea, Abby, Andrew, Jonathan, and Michelle; and great granddaughter, Eliza; her brother, George and sister Alice; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Don, Alphe, Leon, Lionel, Emile, Andy, Lucien, Irene, Rita and Denise.
