Margaret A. Vilandry, 71, loving wife and devoted mother, was released from her pain and suffering on March 13, 2019, surrounded with love by her family.
Margaret was born in Sanford on May 8, 1947, the daughter of Norman and Dolores (Durand) Henry.
Margaret attended Sanford schools and from an early age she matured into a wonderful, caring woman who married her soulmate, Ronald Vilandry on May 29, 1971 at Holy Family Catholic Church. She and Ron had two sons, Robert and Scott whom she cherished. Not only did she care and manage the day-to-day life with two active boys, but worked outside the home to ensure they had what they needed. She worked at Aletta’s Dress Shop in Springvale, the Sanford Dress Shop and for Jagger Brothers and Sprague Electric. In her later years, she enjoyed meeting many friends as a greeter at Wal Mart.
Margaret loved watching her favorite programs on television, especially comedies which included Three’s Company and the Big Bang Theory. Of course she wouldn’t miss an episode of the Young and Restless. She and Ron enjoyed taking day trips and would visit York Animal Park most summers. In their younger years, She and Ron enjoyed bowling and where they would meet their neighbors and friends. Margaret began collecting Teddy Bears and had a special one tucked in next to her when she passed.
Margaret was a very giving and kind woman. . . As her son’s shared their memories of Mom, their heartfelt sentiment was, “She was her son’s hearts.” Margaret will be deeply missed by her husband, sons and siblings.
Margaret is lovingly survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Vilandry of Lebanon; her two sons, Robert and Scott Vilandry, both of Lebanon; her sisters, Rachel Pierce of Sanford; Diane Allen and fiancé Richard Bouffard of Sanford; Susan and husband Joseph Webber of Sanford; her brothers, Rene Henry and Gerard Henry, both of Sanford; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Linda M. Morin.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street, in Alfred where a Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Please bring your love, memories and stories to share with Margaret’s family.
