Paul A. Bechard, 66, beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather, died suddenly on March 14, 2019 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. Paul was with his loving wife and children when he passed.

Paul was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on June 12, 1952.

Following graduation from high school, Paul entered the Nashua Fire Department where he was mentored, encouraged and occasionally teased by his fellow buddies within the station. Paul drove an assortment of fire trucks and served 15 years through-out the six stations in Nashua; before he suffered a life changing injury and could no longer serve on the fire department. Paul was not one to complain and always worked three jobs to provide for his family.

In 2013, Paul moved to Maine with his sweetheart and soulmate, Deborah. He and Deborah were married in a private ceremony on January 20, 2015. They made their home in Acton and opened their hearts and home to their children and their “fur babies” L.A. and Bella. Paul also worked a couple of years with his friends at Autumn Green Funeral Home; where his sense of humor was appreciated and he was known to come into work early to get ready for the day.

For relaxation, Paul loved to read, discuss politics including conspiracy theories, and LOVED peanut butter and whoopie pies. He enjoyed taking infamous trips with his family; exploring Washington, DC and sight-seeing in Maine and NH. His love of his wife and family grew stronger each day. Though Paul was strong and over six feet tall; he was a gentle giant and carried a soft spot for animals.

Some of Paul’s favorite quotes, “My bad” “Really” “What do we have goin’ on here” On rainy days – “It’s going to be a bad hair day babe” “I adore you” and “Crazy girls!”

Paul will be dearly missed and his memory will be forever honored and cherished by those who have had the privilege of knowing this wonderful man.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Deborah Bechard, his step children, Erica Robidoux, Kayla Bundy, Kelly Paschall, and grandchildren, Alexis Casias and Landon Akin; his step children whom he loved and raised with his first wife, Roxanne Harbeck-Jennings, Charles Harbeck and wife Kristin April-Harbeck, Jami Harbeck, Dana Harbeck and wife Mimi Harbeck, his 12 grandchildren, and his 4 great grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by Eric Harbeck, Brent Harbeck, Dori Harbeck and Alisha Faye-Zibolis.

Paul had a very close relationship with his mother and father-in-law, Joann and Lennox Bundy.

At Paul’s request, all services will be private. Later in the early summer, a celebration of Paul’s life will be held in New Hampshire and will be announced by his family.
