You may visit with the family at the New Covenant Baptist Church, 285 Maple St., North Berwick, Maine beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to a luncheon immediately following the service.
Marjorie (Marge) P. Sisson Parker, 95, a longtime resident of North Berwick, died peacefully at her home on February 4, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Marjorie was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on July 12, 1924 the daughter of Frank L. and Gladys (Bartlett) Sisson. She was a graduate of Stoneham High School and Bridgewater State Teachers’ College, both in Massachusetts. Marjorie married Charles (Charlie) Parker, Jr. on April 20, 1951 and made their home in North Berwick on the farm they both loved.
Marjorie was a substitute teacher locally, and finished her teaching and coaching career at Noble High School. Marjorie was involved within her community and served on the North Berwick School Board, was a 4-H Club leader and a member of the North Berwick Historical Society. She also served on the Conservation Committee and was a proud member of Great Works Regional Land Trust. Marge was an active member of the New Covenant Baptist Church.
Marjorie enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and traveling with Charlie visiting friends and family. She and Charlie tended to their large vegetable gardens and looked forward to providing fresh peas for the Fourth of July. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who lived each day guided by her strong faith and family values. She will be dearly missed by her family, her church community and many friends.
Survivors include her children, Susan P. Ferguson, David C. Parker and wife Beth and their children Rebecca and Leslie; Janet M. Ferry and husband Daniel and their children, Zachary and wife Sara and Brett and wife Michelle; and four great-grandchildren Mason, Charlie, Parker and Violet.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charles W. Parker, Jr. and by her brother, Donald Sisson. She will be laid to rest at a private burial service.
