On February 8, 2020 Cheryl J. (Clark) Adams, 74, of North Waterboro, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was born on September 29, 1945 and raised in Wrentham, Massachusetts as the oldest of five children. Cheryl was a graduate of King Phillip Regional High School, Class of 1963 and studied at Bridgewater State University.

Cheryl was married to her husband Dale for over 50 years, and they made their home on Evergreen Drive in North Waterboro beginning in 1978. She was the mother of two children, Jennifer Adams, currently of Wayne, Pennsylvania, and Thomas Adams, currently of Boylston, Massachusetts, and the grandmother of four: Helen, Eleanor, Ralph and Hazel. She was predeceased by her parents, William Clark and Doris (Young) Clark and is survived by her four younger siblings: James Clark, William Clark, June Allen and Valerie Dias.

Cheryl worked for almost 20 years for the United States Postal Service in Alfred, Maine where her warm smile greeted so many community members at the post office counter. In her free time, she was an avid reader, and excellent cook and a fan of oldies music and classic films. She enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and loved drives along the coast on a beautiful day. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She gave everything to her family, and inspired her children to push against their limits and live adventurous, generous and joy-filled lives. She was a bright light of love to her grandchildren, fully engaged with all of their wonder, curiosity, and interests. She brought a supportive hand, kindness, happiness, laughter, and love to everyone that knew her.

A service and remembrance of her life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl’s name to the American Diabetes Foundation, 80 Elm St., Portland, ME 04101.
