Over a life span of 103 years, Ruth experienced many decades of change. She went from traveling to school by horse drawn wagon in Canaan, Maine to being at Cape Canaveral, Florida observing space shuttle launches.
Ruth contributed to her community by attending and participating in fundraising activities at the Shawmut Community Chapel. She was a scout leader, president of the Lawrence high school music boosters club and a member and officer of the Rebekah Lodge in Fairfield, Maine.
Ruth was an avid traveler. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, across the United States several times and to Canada.
Ruth took pride in her beautiful rose gardens and baking raspberry pies from her raspberry patch for her grandchildren. The grandchildren have fond memories of spending their summers with her in Shawmut, Maine and spring breaks at her winter home in Florida.
She will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy at: https://www.barbarabush.org/donate/ or mail to: Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, P.O. Box 14380 Washington, D.C. 20044
