Tylar Richard Burgess
October 7, 1997 - March 20, 2020
A celebration of Tylar's life will be held later and will be announced.
Tylar R. Burgess, 22, nicknamed Ty, known by his nieces as TyTy, and by his friends as Lar, passed away on March 20, 2020 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Ty was born on October 7, 1997 in Biddeford, the son of Shawn R. and Melissa A. (Letellier) Burgess. Ty grew up in Sanford and was a graduate of Sanford High School. He was a talented athlete and catcher who proudly wore # 33 on his baseball uniform and was the goalie on the soccer team. With his indomitable spirit, these positions fit Lar’s personality: toughness, endurance and quick reflexes.
Tylar was a genuine and thoughtful person who possessed a kind heart. He would drop everything he was doing to help someone in need. Ty loved to ride his motorcycle with his family and friends. He was the jokester of the group and loved to make people laugh.
Ty gave the best hugs! His beautiful eyes and smile won many people over to his side.
Tylar worked as a supervisor with the family business of North East Material Installations. He recently moved into his home he built in Alfred.
Though our hearts break from losing our precious son. . . Ty was an organ donor and we know that the ‘gift of life’ has been passed to many who can live life again. We are proud that in some small way, his death will not be Tylar’s final chapter. . . But, it’s one of life.
Tylar will be forever cherished and remain in our hearts forever.
Ty is lovingly survived by his parents Shawn and Melissa Burgess; his brother Daniel Farrell and fiancé Paris Mackensie and nieces Lilah and London; his grandparents Jeff and Diane Cantara; Mike and Donna Lettier; and Craig and Sandra Burgess; his great-grandparents Emmett and Beverly Summers; many aunts, uncles and great aunts and uncles, cousins, and tons of friends; and his dogs Bella and Jayce.
A Celebration of Tylar’s life will be held later and will be announced.
