Diane “Mimi” Rouillard entered God’s loving embrace surrounded by her family on May 28, 2020. She was a quiet woman with a quick sense of humor and gentle soul. She endured much pain in her life, but she refused to let her afflictions stop her from doing the things that brought her joy. She will be missed by all who knew her, particularly her husband, two sons, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Diane met her husband Michael in high school. They married shortly after graduation and were blessed to have forty-eight wonderful years together. Their union gave them two children, Brian Keith and Shawn Michael. In 1979 they moved to Waterboro and built a house, where she remained until her passing. She and Mike enjoyed spending their time fishing and picking blueberries and strawberries. She loved baking cookies for her family, and she delighted in finding new recipes to try. She enjoyed listening to traditional Christian hymns.
Diane was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age, but the family recalls how she never allowed it to slow her down. She could often be found gardening or raking her lawn, baking, cross-stitching, or working on puzzle books. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was always ready to give them advice, show them how to cook and bake, and loved to babysit. She looked forward to her annual trips to Santa’s Village with Mike and her grandchildren, and never missed a dance recital, drama performance, or sports event. She took pride in having a unique relationship with each one of her grandchildren and felt blessed to see the birth of her first great-grandson.
She is predeceased by her mother Therese Letellier and father Raymond Letellier. She leaves behind husband Michael and her two sons Brian Rouillard and his wife Dawn, and Shawn Rouillard and his wife Teresa as well as her grandchildren Jasmine Rouillard, Alexandria Rouillard, Aleesha Johnson, Michael Johnson, James Rouillard, Clare Rouillard, Simon Rouillard, Violet Rouillard, Eliza Rouillard, Cecily Rouillard, Lucy Rouillard and great-grandson Dawson Rouillard.
She also leaves her sister Estelle L’Heureux and husband Richard, brother Richard Letellier and his wife Mary, brother Robert Letellier and wife Elizabeth, and brother Daniel Letellier and wife Tina.
