Paul J. Desveaux, 78, a longtime resident of Nason Street in Sanford, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on July 8, 2020. Paul’s circle of life was complete. . . as Paul was born on July 8, 1942 in New York, NY the son of Jean Desveaux and Oline Doiron.

Paul and his sweetheart and soulmate, Daureen (Barton) Desveaux were blessed with 55 years of marriage and welcomed into their hearts and home three children. Paul was a dedicated employee of many of the local manufacturing companies as a machine operator, with a specialty in sheet metal production.

Paul was an avid gardener and enjoyed giving family and friends his “ten cent” tour around his beautiful flower gardens and vegetable garden. He spent many happy hours creating the perfect water fall using rocks and nature vegetation that made it blend into the yard. He also was a talented and gifted furniture maker; he and Daureen shared many happy years selling his beautiful hand crafted items at fairs and in several New England shops. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing in the local area as well as kayaking with his son Marc, his grandsons Mike, Ethan, Devin and son-in-law Rick.

At the age of 60, Paul took up the sport of running. He completed half marathons and won numerous medals and ran in the Seacoast series in Rye and Portsmouth, NH. He and his family made memories of a lifetime on trips and cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean Islands and to Yellowstone National Park. Paul was the consummate “people person” and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He always had a smile on his face and loved to cheer on his grandchildren as they participated in school activities and sporting events.

Paul was devoted to his wife and family. He will be dearly missed. A fitting scripture for Paul is: 2nd Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith. . . He has now been reunited with his son, Michael Desveaux.

Paul is lovingly survived by his wife Daureen Desveaux of Sanford; his daughter Karen Gouin and husband Rick of Sanford and Marc Desveaux of Sanford; and three grandchildren Michael, Ethan and Devin and one great granddaughter Natalie.
