U.S. Veteran

Service Date:

Per Chuck's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.

Charles “Chuck” Allen Warden, 81, of Lebanon, Maine went peacefully to be with our Lord on August 29, 2020 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, Maine.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Peggy Warden (nee Mallar); and his sons Stephen, James, and Kevin Warden, special daughter Michelle Beaulieu, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was born July 16, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Harold Jay and Nettie Adell Warden. He graduated Weir High School, Weirton, WV and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956 to work as an Inventory Management Specialist/Supervisor. While stationed at Loring Air Force Base, Maine, he met his soon-to-be-wife, Peggy Mallar, and they were married on June 4, 1961. Between 1962 and 1966 they welcomed their three boys into the world. He was honorably discharged from the USAF on December 31, 1977, having earned numerous awards and decorations to include the Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Presidential Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star.

He was a devoted father and spent much time coaching and/or assisting his sons with Little League, Pop Warner Football, and all the phases of the Scouting program. Home games of his boys were never missed. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid golfer, and a die-hard fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. Chuck’s love for Jesus led him to serve as lay minister in the Methodist church and State Chaplain for the State of Maine VFW.

Per Chuck’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation in Chuck’s name to the American Cancer Society.

The Autumn Green Funeral Home is respectfully handling arrangements.
