A funeral service for his immediate family will be held and burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred.

Chester Brown, 89, “Chet” of Lyman, Maine passed away on October 1, 2020, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with his loving wife and family by his side.

Chet was born on November 11, 1930 at home in West Kennebunk, the eleventh of twelve children born to Walter D. and Olive M. (Paul) Brown.

Chet was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was assigned to the USS Worcester. He married the love of his life, Harriett Bodycote, in August of 1949. For many years he worked as a truck driver for Bancroft & Martin. He also worked for Sanders Associated in N.H. and he was employed as a custodian for Massabesic High School, for close to 10 years. After retiring he worked for York County Community Action in Sanford.

Chet was a faithful servant of God. He was a Sunday School Superintendent and worship leader for many years.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Harriet, and four sons, Danny and his wife Judy, Larry and his wife Kathy, Robert and his wife Donna, and Timothy, and one sister, Regina Eaton of West Kennebunk. Chet is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one granddaughter.

Chet is resting with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
