Carol A. Rogers
April 16, 1947 - October 28, 2020
A visitation with viewing will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak St., in Alfred.
Carol, beloved mother, sister, aunt, nana, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, on October 28, 2020.
Carol was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on April 16, 1947, the daughter of Frank and Victoria (Chiappini) Breton.
Carol loved spending time with her family. Her world and life revolved around her family and her grandchildren were special gifts of joy, unconditional love, and sweetness. Most Sunday’s you would find Carol in her kitchen preparing mouth-watering Italian dishes. She cooked for an “army” of relatives, friends and for those she had just met – You were welcomed at her home and table!
One of Carol’s favorite places was Granny Kent Pond, where she would be with her family and friends celebrating the holidays. As the holidays grew near, Carol loved to make her own homemade presents, whether it was photos in frames, cookies, or peanut butter balls. She would giggle and say to the kids, “It means more when it comes from the heart.” Her amazing potato salad complimented her infamous barbeques. Carol had many interest and hobbies including arts & crafts and making her own jewelry, usually with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. She also was always up to sight-seeing with her sisters.
Carol’s true passion was being a florist and owning her own shop which she loved and was immensely proud of. She began Always and Forever in Waterboro on West Road and then moved to Main Street where she worked and mentored her friend and co-worker Cheryl.
Carol had an infectious smile and laugh; and was known to be a jokester. Her whit and sassiness could not be imitated! With Carol’s warmth and kindness, upon meeting her, you knew she would include you in her circle of friends. She also loved spending time camping at White Lake State Park and at the lake in Rangeley with her mother and family. Carol spoiled and loved her four-legged hairy grand dogs George and Ella. (They knew Nana would give them a treat!)
Carol will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. It goes without saying, Carol loved her two sons, Darren and Shawn “To the Moon and back.”
We love you Mom. . . Always & Forever. . .
Carol is lovingly survived by her two sons, Darren M. Rogers of Shapleigh and Krystal David of Cornish; and Shawn P. Rogers and wife Sarah of Milton, NH; and her ex-husband Wallace Rogers of Springvale. Also by her sisters and brother, Darlene Breton of Sanford, Mary Jane Gurney of Sanford, Francine Cram and husband Dennis of Shapleigh and Donna Maguire of Sanford, Thomas Breton and wife Patricia of Shapleigh and sister-in-law Linda Berard and husband Steve of Biddeford; her grandchildren, Morgan Sage Victoria Rogers of No. Carolina; Anthony James Rogers of Westbrook; Cooper Kozlowski and Liliana Kozlowski, both of Dover, NH; Lauren and Hannah Vallee both of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Frank and Victoria Breton and by her brother, Frank L. Breton, Jr.
