Albert H. Berard
August 24, 1953 - October 30, 2020
A private family graveside service will be held.
Albert H. Berard, 67, a longtime resident of Sanford, died knowing he was loved by his family and will be dearly missed. His passing was one day shy of Halloween – as many of you know, Al was well known in the area for growing the biggest pumpkins!
Albert was born on August 24, 1953 in Sanford, the son of Henry and Gertrude Ida (Bergeron) Berard. Albert was one of nine children and grew up in an active household where traditional values were respected and kept. He was a graduate of Sanford High School.
Al worked for many years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, first as a pipefitter and then as a rigger.
Albert married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Yvette Bernier, and they were blessed with two sons. They made their home in Sanford and it is where Al grew his gigantic pumpkins. He was devoted to his family and our hearts will forever cherish your memory and love.
Albert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Yvette Berard, his two children Matthew Berard and Erika Barnett and Jordan Berard and wife Laura; his two grandchildren Hudson and Kinleigh, and by his siblings, Don Berard and wife Kathy, Pauline Bernier and husband Don, Raymond Berard and wife Sue, Jeannine Hale and husband Glen, Phil Berard, Margaret Brin, Jackie Berard and Jim Berard and wife Jen; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside will be held.
The Autumn Green Funeral Home is respectfully handling arrangements.
