Ruth Ann Paratore
October 15, 1958 - January 8, 2021
A private memorial service will be held and burial will be held later in the spring.
Ruth Ann Paratore, 62, beloved daughter, mom, sister, and grandmother, (Narnie) passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, on January 8, 2021.
Ruth was born in Sanford on October 15, 1958, the daughter of Ralph I. and Pauline (Judkins) Douglas. She was raised in Kezar Falls and was a graduate of Sacopee Valley High School.
Ruth was full of spice, honey, and laughter. She was selfless and gave to her family unconditionally and her “work family” were just as important to her. She was a hard worker often working 11 – 12 shifts in her working career within the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Ruth was a longtime bartender at Bintliff’s Ogunquit where she was a trusted and valued employee and friend to not only her co-workers, but to those who enjoyed the atmosphere at Bintliff’s.
First and foremost, Ruthie was a devoted mother to her two girls, Sheresa and Sonia. By her example they have become kind and hardworking young ladies. She spent many days with her Mom, Pauline and tended to her when she had her own health challenges. Ruth was named after Pauline’s sister, Ruthie Anna who perished in a house fire. Their close relationship was unique and special; she was her Mom’s “love button” and will never be replaced.
Ruthie loved to dance and would be the “life of the party”. She took several trips to Mexico and was a tried-and-true Red Sox fan. She received complimentary tickets from her customers and took in the sights and sounds of Fenway park. Ruth bought several different types of Red Sox memorabilia in all her years of rooting for them.
Ruth adored her grandchildren and they affectionally named her “Narnie”. With her unselfish nature, even when she struggled with brain cancer, she wanted to make sure that her girls took care of her Mom. It was just part of her being, she put other’s needs before her own. She also maintained friendships with many childhood friends through-out the years.
Our strong and loving Mom will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. You will always remain in our hearts and each time we see a hummingbird. . . We will know that it is our sign that you are continuingly watching over us.
She is lovingly survived by her mother, Pauline Douglas, daughters Sheresa Marie Seavey and Sonia Lynn Cervantes, her favorite grandchildren, Keldon Seavey, Korrah Seavey, Brandon Gendreau and Kyle Gendreau; sister Beverly Hodgdon, brothers Joe Douglas, Robert Scott Wilson, and Eric Wilson; and stepbrother Terry Wilson and half-sister Sharon Tilson, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her father, Ralph I. Douglas, and brother Richard A. Douglas.
A private memorial service will be held with a burial to be held later in the spring.
