Emily Mae Sirois, 75, of Sanford passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2021. Emily was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on April 27th, 1945 the daughter of Theodore and Iola Jarosz. Emily was the youngest of four siblings Micky, Kitty and Ted.
Emily spent her childhood years growing up in No. Attleboro and attended local schools. It is during this time, she met her high school sweetheart, Lanny S. Sirois Sr. Emily and Lanny were married in 1964 and spent 45 loving years together. Emily and Lanny had their first child in 1965, followed by their second child in 1967. The Sirois family moved to Tampa Florida where Emily was a teacher’s aid for seven years; then in 1975 the couple welcomed a third child.
It was in 1976 the Sirois family decided to make Maine there forever home settling in Sanford. It was at this home where Emily spent the remainder of her days.
Emily worked at Sprague Electric for a short time but most importantly she was a mother and housewife. Emily decided to return to work and held a position as a salesperson at Woodman Jewelers. Emily worked at Woodman Jewelers for 20+ years where she became an extraordinarily successful, well-known sales lady where she made many friends and was loved by all she worked with.
Emily was a gifted artist. She enjoyed painting and writing poetry. She made several paintings and murals that hang in her children’s homes.
Emily spent many of her days tending her garden creating beautiful gardens wherever she lived. She loved to teach her grand and great grandchildren about all the birds that came to visit.
Emily was an exceedingly kind and giving person always searching for ways to give back to those less fortunate.
Emily was part of the Ladies Auxiliary for Ross Corner Fire Company and supported her church by serving on the Vestry, cleaning linens, and assisting with donating food to the local food pantry.
Emily is predeceased by her husband Lanny S. Sirois Sr, son Dawson Lee Sirois, parents Theodore and Iola Jarosz and siblings Mitchell (Micky) Jarosz and Catherine (Kitty) Jarosz Roaf.
She is survived by her children, Lanny S. Sirois Jr and Wife Diane and Adam Sirois. Her grandchildren Diane Bell, husband Raymond, Deena Day, and husband Brandon and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Theodore (Ted) Jarosz Jr, wife Susan and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a period of visitation on April 9th from 5pm-7pm at Autumn Green Funeral Home, all are welcome.
To celebrate Emily’s life, there will be a private service held for immediate family at 10:00 a.m. on April 10, 2021 at the St. Georges Episcopal Church in Sanford.
