Michael (Mike) R. Giberti Sr., 63, of Sanford Maine, passed away on April 28, 2021 after a tough battle with Kidney Cancer.

Mike was born on July 17, 1957 to John and Marguerite (Sullivan) Giberti in Cambridge Massachusetts.

Mike met his wife, Nancy in 1983, and they married in 1987.

He was a family man who loved his wife, kids, granddaughter, and grand dog more than anything.

Anyone who knew Mike knew that he was the most loving father, husband, and Papa that a family could ask for. He was always determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved and the things that he did not have when growing up.

He enjoyed having dinners together, whether it be to order a pizza or have a BBQ.

His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, he always wanted to go all out. The bigger the turkey the better was what Mike always wanted because he had to make sure there were leftovers for turkey sandwiches. Every Thanksgiving when his wife would ask to say a prayer, Mike’s response was “Over the lips, through the gums, look out stomach here it comes.”

He was always a jokester and loved to tell his jokes even if they were not funny. Once his kids had heard them all, he had a new audience, telling his granddaughter whom he adored.

He constantly made sure his families’ vehicles were well maintained and even after his passing; he left a note to make sure to keep the vehicles maintained.

His sarcastic wit was always on point, he would say the darnedest things. He was very blunt in the delivery of his words and would say things exactly as they were without sugar coating anything. You could always expect the truth from Mike.

Mike was a carpenter by trade and deeply passionate about it. He had a meticulous attention to detail, and that skill led him to build some of the beautiful homes on the beach in Kennebunkport, which he was immensely proud of. His passion was in finish work, and his skill level was excellent. At the time of retirement, Mike worked for SMHC in Biddeford in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed that job and enjoyed talking with the staff in all the doctor’s offices.

Mike is predeceased by his sister Kathy, whom he loved greatly, his Mother Marguerite and Father John.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Giberti, children Elizabeth Rocchio and Michael Giberti Jr, as well as his granddaughter Jordan Myers. Michael is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Christine Banta and husband Gary; Evelyn Pelletier and husband Ray; John Giberti and wife Gail; Joseph Giberti and wife Tian; & Judith Crowley and husband Dale Jr. Mike had many in-laws whom he loved just as much  as his own siblings, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who meant the world to him.

At Michael’s request, all services will be private.
