A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21st at 1:00 p.m. at the Chadbourne Cemetery in Lyman.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Dinsmore, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed peacefully in her home with her children by her side, including Billy the cat.
Jackie was born in Portland on June 23, 1932, the daughter of Eric E. and Inez M. (Christensen) Elliott, Sr.
She was a graduate of Thornton Academy in 1950. On June 10, 1951, Jackie married Curtis A. Dinsmore, and they welcomed five daughters into their hearts and home. They made their home in Eliot for the next 20 years. Jackie worked as a waitress at Valley’s Steak House in Scarborough and then became the cafeteria manager for 16 years at Marshwood High School.
Jackie was a talented seamstress who made her children’s clothes and their wedding dresses. She also enjoyed knitting and baking! Having the family together for the holidays brought warm memories and loads of fun! Jackie also had “Bee Line” – clothing parties and Dutch Made parties.
Jackie was a longtime member of the International Order Rainbow Girls and was Past Worthy advisor. She believed in the values and camaraderie which her girls were fortunate to be a part of.
Jackie and Curtis would travel every other year with her brother Eric “Stubby” and her sister-in-law Phyllis. From these trips, happy memories and stories were made.
Jackie was a true matriarch of her family. She possessed an abundance of love, forgiveness, and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
She is lovingly survived by her four daughters, Pamela Precourt of Sanford, Maine; Laura Zuzgo of Alton Bay, NH; Kim Cate of Eliot, ME; April Palmer of Rochester, NH and son-in-law Mathew Ramsdell of Waterboro, ME. She was the beloved grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was predeceased by her husband Curtis, her daughter Joyce Ramsdell, her sons-in-law, Roger Palmer, Jeff Cate, and Marc Precourt.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chadbourne Cemetery in Lyman. Rev. Linda Hirst will officiate.
