Theresa L’Esperance Sylvain took a final journey to meet her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2021.
She was born and raised in Springvale where she met her husband, of 70 years, Robert. Together Robert and Theresa raised their three children, on Pleasant Street, in the house where they first met on a blind date. They loved to dance, travel, their road atlas at the ready, and took many day trips to the beach. They spent many winters in Myrtle Beach or in Florida.
She spent her days working at Jagger Brothers in Springvale for 32 years, retiring at 62. Theresa was never one to be idle, she loved to bake and always had Pringle cans of chocolate chip cookies and individually-wrapped whoopie pies in the freezer. She always had a sewing or knitting project or a good book at her side. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She remained in the family home until she moved to Huntington Commons in Kennebunk in 2019. There she was loved and well cared for by their staff.
Theresa leaves her daughter Carol Frieswick and husband Bruce, sons Bernard Sylvain and his wife Carol, Richard Sylvain and his wife Margaret. She cherished hearing stories of her seven devoted grandchildren and leaves Alana Kimball and her husband Jeff, Robert Frieswick and his wife Rebekah, Jon Frieswick, Zachary Sylvain and his partner Megan Ruxton, Emily Runyan and her husband David, Benjamin Sylvain and his partner Tricia Tzikas, and Jeremy Sylvain. She also leaves three great-grandchildren Caia Kimball, Paige and Owen Frieswick.
Theresa is predeceased by her loving husband Robert and her five siblings.
