A Celebration of Tom's life will be held January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 60 School St., in Saco, Maine.

Thomas A. Muise, 65, a longtime resident and loving spouse, father, and grandfather, died peacefully on December 10, 2021 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Tom was well cared for and loved while he enjoyed his home, his family and many friends who came by to offer encouragement and share in his delightful sense of humor.

Tom was born in Exeter, New Hampshire the son of Alfred and Florence A. (Johnson) Muise. Tom was the eldest and his siblings were Alfred, Jr., Josephine, Jean all who have predeceased him.

Tom was a computer programmer for close to 20 years with Raytheon Corporation, where he was proud of his work in the defense missile department. With Tom’s outgoing personality and pride, he gladly helped others working in several retail management jobs including Kohl’s and Joann Fabrics. His co-workers enjoyed collaborating with Tom and his motto was, “The customer is always right!”

Tom was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Saco and Biddeford, serving on numerous committees including the board of directors. Also, the Ferry Beach Conference Center including active membership in GAYLA; was a designer with the Saco Festival of Trees, a volunteer and festival chair for several years. During the Marriage Equality 2009 campaign, he was a volunteer managing the Biddeford campaign office and was also active for 2012. In addition to this, he was a continually active volunteer for City Theater in Biddeford.

Tom and his husband Brian enjoyed day trips, going to the beach, and discovering the lighthouses along the Maine coast. They loved to entertain and spending time with their children and grandchildren filled their home with loads of love and laughter. Tom’s domain at home was the kitchen. He loved to cook and usually made enough to feed the entire building. He also enjoyed flowerpot gardening including his usual tomatoes and strawberries, which provided fresh ingredients for his kitchen creations.

Tom is lovingly survived by his husband Brian Dustin of Biddeford; his children: Amanda Muise and David Muise and wife Kiki, Christopher Dustin and Kimberly Dustin and husband Eric Martin and their children Griffin DiPietro and Carmine Martin, and brother Ernest, along with bunches of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 60 School St., Saco, Maine.
